Compote of Fresh Apples or Pears



Servings (portions): 4

Ingredients: 
sugar - 3/4 of glass
apple (or pear) - 500 g
peel of lemon - taste


Steps of cooking: 
1. Peeled apples cut each into 6-8 pieces and remove the core from them. To cleaned apples are not darkened, they must be put into cold water before cooking, slightly acidified with citric acid.

2. In the saucepan add sugar, pour 2 cups of hot water, put the sliced apples and cook slowly for 10-15 minutes (depending on the type of apples), until the apples become soft.

3. In the finished compote put a peel of lemon, orange or cinnamon. If the compote is prepared from ripe apples, then they do not need to be boiled - just bring to a boil.

4. The compote of fresh pears is cooked the same way, but you can take less sugar (depending on the sweetness of pears). Cook the compote for 10-15 minutes. If the pears are very ripe, then compote enough to bring to a boil. When ready, put compote into vases.
